Lindsay Lohan is best known for her starring roles in film classics such as The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday, Mean Girls, and Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. But she also got her start on a soap.

Along with her work in popular films, Lohan has also worked in television and has also pursued a career in music. From her soap beginnings to almost being in a blockbuster film, here are five fast facts about the actress.

Who Is Lindsay Lohan?

Lohan was born on July 2 in The Bronx, New York. She grew up in Long Island with her three younger siblings. She attended Cold Spring Harbor High School for three years but left so she could be homeschooled. Lohan started working as a model and then began appearing in commercials while she was young.

Soap Beginnings
When she was just 10 years old, Lohan was cast as Alli Fowler in Another World. She was on the show for less than a year and ended up leaving after she landed the lead role in the remake of the beloved Disney film, The Parent Trap.

Cast Shakeups
Lohan originally wanted to play the role of Regina George in Mean Girls and was about to do it, but the producers felt she was a better fit for Cady Heron. Though she was initially resistant, she ended up being OK with the decision. She was also offered the role of Jade in The Hangover, but she turned it down. Heather Graham ended up with the role.

Singing Career

Along with acting, Lohan has also tried her hand at a singing career. She has released two albums, Speak — which came out in 2004 — and A Little More Personal (Raw) — which was released in 2005. Speak actually sold over 1 million copies and featured her most famous song, Rumors.

Getting Personal
Lohan dated current NCIS star Wilmer Valderrama in 2004. She then famously dated DJ Samantha Ronson from 2008 to 2009. She got engaged to Russian millionaire Egor Tarabasov in 2016, but the couple called it quits by 2017.
