Brittany Snow has been acting professionally since she was a teenager and has been in movies like Hairspray, John Tucker Must Die, the Pitch Perfect trilogy, and Netflix’s Someone Great. She’s also been on a soap.
Along with her film and soap career, Snow has also appeared on primetime television shows like American Dreams, Nip/Tuck, Gossip Girl, and her current show, Almost Family. From where she was born and raised to her incredible anti-bullying campaign, here are five fast facts about the actress.
Snow was born on March 9 in Tampa, Florida, which is where she was also raised. She grew up with a half-brother, John Jr. and a half-sister, Holly. She attended Gaither High School and was very involved in dance while growing up. She also started modeling at the age of 3 for print ads.
Soap Beginnings
Following years of modeling, Snow was cast on the CBS soap Guiding Light as troubled teen Susan “Daisy” Lemay. She was on the show for three years and won a Young Artist Award for Best Young Actress. She was nominated two other times for Young Artist Awards.
Film Breakthrough
After her time on GL and appearing on a number of other television shows, as well as appearing in a few movies, Snow landed her breakthrough film role in the teen comedy John Tucker Must Die. She played the main character of Kate Spencer and the film was a commercial success, making $68 million on an $18 million budget.
Snow has been very vocal about her struggles with anorexia and depression, which is why she started the Love is Louder movement with The Jed Foundation to help people who feel bullied or alone. Schools and communities have used the program to address serious issues, including depression and body image, and Snow has been recognized by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration for her work.

Snow previously dated actor Tyler Hoechlin, who is best known for starring in Teen Wolf. However, she is currently married to relator Tyler Stanaland, after the couple wed in 2020. Her wedding day included many “happy accidents” as she called them.
