Find out if any of your favorite actors and actresses from yesteryear are returning to the shows you watch, if any newcomers have been cast in contract, recurring, or day-player roles, or if any popular performers are about to make their exit.

The Young and the Restless

Nate’s (Sean Dominic) much talked-about half-brother has finally been cast on Y&R. Nathan Owens has signed on to portray Damian, the recently revealed son of the late Nathan Hastings and Amy Lewis (Valarie Pettiford). Soap fans may remember Owens from his 2012 to 2013 run as Cameron Lewis on DAYS. The actor will make his debut on January 8.

Telma Hopkins is returning to Genoa City as Denise Tolliver. She originally played the character in 2021. The detective will be hired by Nate to find the above-mentioned Damian and is set to make her first appearance on Thursday, December 19. The casting move reunites Hopkins with her former Half & Half Pettiford, where the pair played Phyllis and Big Dee Dee, respectively. Hopkins has appeared in numerous sitcoms, including Bosom Buddies, Gimme a Break, and Family Matters. She was also a member of the popular singing group, Tony Orlando and Dawn.

Christopher Cousins pops back in as Dr. Alan Laurent on Thursday, December 19. The psychiatrist is called upon to hypnotize Sharon Case’s Sharon.

Vail Bloom makes another appearance as the late Heather Stevens on Thursday, December 19. The character presumably returns in a flashback scene.

Meanwhile, Ray Wise and Colleen Zenk are back, too, as the dastardly Ian Ward and Jordan Howard. Their characters continue plotting against the Newman clan this week, with Ian urging Jordan to play dirty on Friday, December 20.

General Hospital

Another lead actor has been pink-slipped at GH, on the heels of Kelly Monaco’s exit and her character Sam McCall’s murder, Evan Hofer has been offed as cop Dex Heller. Hoffer made his Port Charles debut in 2022. Just like Sam, Dex survived surgery only to suddenly die on Friday, December 13.

Meanwhile, Joyce Guy, who debuted as Phyllis Caulfield back in 2020, has apparently exited the soap. The character last aired in 2023 and, at the time, had been managing Charlie’s Pub. However, in a recent episode, it was revealed that Phyllis had moved back to Nixon Falls.

That was Gina Vitori portraying police officer Jackson. The character found Dex after he was stabbed in the park.

Days of our Lives

The Greene clan gets some happy screen time together on DAYS. Jonah Robinson is back as Mark Greene on Wednesday, December 18, when he interacts with Dan Feuerriegel’s EJ DiMera. The actor also shares reunion scenes opposite his TV family members, AnnaLynne McCord’s Cat, Louis Tomeo’s Aaron, and Kennedy Garcia’s Felicity on the same day.

Madelyn Kientz returns as Sophia Choi on Thursday, December 19 and Friday, December 20. She’ll have powerful scenes opposite Leo Howard’s Tate Black

Karole Foreman airs as the judge presiding over Philip’s (John-Paul Lavoisier) case against Xander (Paul Telfer) this week.

James Read is out as Clyde Weston…at least for now. The villain fell into a coma after being shot by Catharina (Susan Elana Matus) and undergoing surgery to save his life. Read had portrayed Clyde since 2014.

The Bold and the Beautiful

Ashleigh Brewer pops back in as Eric’s (John McCook) niece, Ivy Forrester at B&B. Look for the jewelry designer to air on Tuesday, December 17 and Wednesday, December 18 in scenes with Heather Tom’s Katie Logan.

Christian Weissman continues his run as the twisted Remy Pryce. He appears on Monday, December 16, Tuesday, December 17, and Wednesday, December 18.
