Australian beauty Ashleigh Brewer is stepping back into Ivy Forrester’s shoes on The Bold and the Beautiful, a character she initially portrayed from 2014 to 2018.

7 Things To Know

It was her foray into American soap opera, albeit she had tackled the medium previously. Brewer played Kate Ramsay on the long-running Australian soap opera Neighbours from 2009 until 2014. The role earned her 2010 nomination for a Logie award in the “Most Popular New Female Talent” category. (Here’s what she told us about her upcoming return.)

Want to learn more about the actress? Here are seven things to know about this talented actress:

1. Born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, her full name is Ashleigh May Brewer.

2. She kicked off her acting career at the age of 12, upon joining the children’s show Sleepover Club. Brewer held down the recurring role of Alana.

3. Brewer graduated from Forest Lake College in 2008. The following week, she arrived in Melbourne to look for acting work. She promptly landed her first gig, Neighbours.

4. She has a connection to the 2023 smash hit Barbie film. Brewer was uncredited in the project as “Totally Hair Barbie.” She’s also very good friends with the movie’s lead, Margot Robbie. The pair were co-stars together on Neighbours.

5. Brewer actually credited Robbie with influencing her decision to leave B&B back in 2018. At the time, she told The Herald Sun, “It’s definitely time for me, and I’ve had Margot encouraging me for so long [saying] just leave it and see what happens. So, I’m throwing caution to the wind now and keeping myself open to opportunities. I’ve been doing soaps for 10 years now. [Leaving is] daunting, but so exciting.”

6. After departing B&B, Brewer, just like her character, Ivy, returned to her native Australia. Her goal was to pursue new acting opportunities, of which there were many. She landed a recurring role on the soap Home and Away and was featured in the HBO film My Dinner with Herve. She also appeared in Tom Kapinos’ television comedy-drama Lovestruck, working alongside Rachel Bilson, Andie MacDowell, and Richard Roxburgh.

7. Brewer recently got engaged to TV/film producer Mark Bauch, whom she’d been dating for nearly two years. She announced the news in an Instagram post on January 14, 2024, noting that Bauch is “the greatest human I’ve ever met.”
