Must Watch: When Soap Operas Get a Spicer Makeover

Recently, the four daytime soap operas, Days of our Lives (DOOL), General Hospital (GH), The Young and the Restless (YR) and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) became part of an entertaining late night skit.

Fans of the Late Show host Stephen Colbert have long recognized him as a master of satire, able to put a humorous spin on just about any situation. Now, it looks like the man has done it again, taking a few moments from his show to poke fun at the White House Press Secretary… and doing so in the form of a soap opera.

The brief segment – titled “The Bold and the Babbling” – paired clips of Sean Spicer alongside scenes taken from various daytime dramas, with absolutely hilarious results. Even the famous “soap opera stare” made an appearance, as Spicer seemed to lock eyes with B&B’s Hope (Kim Matula) during an emotionally charged exchange.

It’s no secret that the Press Secretary’s conferences have significantly effected soap opera ratings, even causing many fans to worry about looming cancellations… but even in spite of those fears, it’s nice to see folks from our favorite shows appearing in new and entertaining places.
