Hits and Misses Breakdown: August 3-7, 2026
Beyond the Gates
HIT: The Dupree cousins enlist more help as they set their sights on Hayley. The excitement surrounding Kat (Colby Nixon), Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla), and Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) going after Hayley (Marquita Goings) continued. Dani (Karla Mosley) helped them, and they managed to bring Jacob (Jibre Hordges) into the fold as well. Meanwhile, Hayley had to step up her plan to get Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) out of town and off to St. Bart’s. This storyline is finally moving along, and we were here for it for the second week in a row.
MISS: Tomas refuses to help the cousins go after Hayley. We get that Tomas’s priority is taking care of his family back in Puerto Rico. But Kat asked him to help with their plan to get the goods on Hayley. His boss may be in trouble. Sure, they think that Hayley is cheating on her husband. What’s really happening is much worse. But why couldn’t Tomas (Alex Alegria) just step up and contribute to the cause?
Worth a Mention (HIT): Nicole finally chose…sort of. This week provided a development in Nicole’s love life. Finally! Carlton (Robert Christopher Riley) basically bowed out, but the writing was on the wall. He was someone comfortable Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) could turn to, but she lit up around Kial (Greg Vaughan). Right now, she wants fresh and new, not nostalgia.

The Bold and the Beautiful
HIT: Wyatt offers Will hilarious support. With all the drama and angst on this show, we love how Wyatt (Darin Brooks) is not just supporting his brother, Will (Crew Morrow), but he’s doing it in a seriously funny way. Wyatt has been entertaining and refreshing as he tries to give Will the advice he needs to get through this Electra-and-Dylan melodrama. Or rather, Electra-and-Nancy melodrama.
MISS: Katie’s attitude towards Dylan. We have been Team Katie (Heather Tom) through her quest to break away from Forrester and make Logan a success. But this week, she started losing us with the extreme heat she’s bringing to Dylan (Sydney Bullock), or, as she keeps calling her, Melissa. She’s confident that “Melissa” is a gold-digger despite this being their first face-to-face interaction. Meanwhile, she is so pro-Electra (Laneya Grace) that she hasn’t called her son’s ex-girlfriend out once for hurting her son.
Worth a Mention (HIT): Bill gives Will good advice. Bill (Don Diamont), however, is choosing to tell his son to get over Electra and move on. It’s probably because of the whole “Forresters and Spencers don’t mix” mantra. Will won’t listen to his dad anytime soon, but he gave a much-needed perspective.

Days of our Lives
HIT: The brother Kiriakis celebrate and commiserate together. Philip locked Xander and Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) in the wine cellar because he ships them over Sarah and Brady (Eric Martsolf). This week, they also celebrated making the loan payment. And then supported each other after finding out they were in trouble again. They are honest with each other. They forgive each other. And they hype each other up. Paul Telfer and John-Paul Lavoisier excel in their scenes together.
MISS: Joy’s crises are still piling up. Now Joy (AlexAnn Hopkins) is in the hospital experiencing numbness in her arm. We have no idea whether this emergency is real or if she’s faking. It just feels like another week, another Joy crisis. And it’s becoming hard to muster up any more sympathy for her.
Worth a Mention (HIT): Stacy Haiduk playing Kristen pretending to be Susan. The 2026 Daytime Emmy nominee did a great job, as Kristen did what she could to visit her daughter. She pretended to be Rachel’s Aunt Susan, and she was convincing enough to fool Rachel. But Haiduk also let enough Kristen shine through that Brady (and viewers) could tell it was her right away. Well done.

General Hospital
HIT: Jason breaks up with Sonny. Jason told Sonny he quit in heartbreaking and emotional scenes. We felt the weight of their history. And sure, this was the severing of their professional relationship. It didn’t mean they would stop being friends and brothers. But it felt monumental, and it moved us, especially when they capped it off with a heartfelt hug. And then Jason walked out the door and looked back through the window at Sonny. Wow. Steve Burton and Maurice Benard made us feel every bit of their characters’ breakup.
MISS: What happened to Ethan? Ethan (Christian Howard) left Port Charles, and we thought that would be it, at least for now. But then we saw Ethan get confronted by Phoebe’s real father. And the guy beat the you-know-what out of him. And then Ethan, not so slyly, called up Ava (Maura West), and let’s just say their chat wasn’t private. The scenes didn’t track with the Ethan we had grown to know and love. It felt like we were watching a completely different character.
Worth a Mention (HIT and MISS): Ava’s gift to Trina. As excited as we are to see Trina (Tabyana Ali) navigate this current musical era of her life, we adored her artistic era, too. It was responsible for the wonderful friendship between Trina and Ava. And so Ava’s offering to eventually make Trina her partner in the art gallery was such a great move. But Trina turned her down because of this record deal. Thankfully, she’ll continue to work for the gallery part-time. But couldn’t she have her singing career, and still be in line for the partnership? Why does one have to exclude the other?

The Young and the Restless
HIT: Billy and Audra’s conversation. Billy (Jason Thompson) has never liked Sally’s friendship with Audra (Zuleyka Silver), let alone this business partnership. But it’s looking more and more like he sees how good a friend Audra is to Sally (Courtney Hope). This week, the two had a talk where they were honest with each other. Audra doesn’t hold back with Billy, and that’s a good thing. They may even have realized they shared similar perspectives on business and the Newmans. It was a good talk.
MISS: Nikki and Victor’s vow renewal. Victor (Eric Braeden) has been adamant that he couldn’t get over the night Jack (Peter Bergman) helped Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) get back on the wagon. So much of the drama Victor has caused recently goes back to that night. But he suddenly figured out a way to get past it. He organized the vow renewal. And Victor and Nikki went to Italy. Don’t get us wrong. The reunion was inevitable and welcome. But we can’t help but feel a little whiplash at how quickly it all went down.
Worth a Mention (MISS): Where’s Tessa? Mariah (Camryn Grimes) is out of the psychiatric facility. She’s back in town, and we didn’t get to see her reunite with Tessa (Cait Fairbanks). We had to hear about it when Mariah reconnected with Sharon (Sharon Case). The character has been absent for quite a while. She’s not even managing Society. What gives?
