On General Hospital (GH), Franco started off as an artist obsessed with a serial killer (Jason). Then, he became one himself. He also made Sam (Kelly Monaco) think he’d raped her and fathered Danny.
But then, magic brain tumor! Franco (Roger Howarth) isn’t bad, he’s just wired that way! Tumor is removed, and now Franco is eligible to romance Port Charles sweetheart Liz (Rebecca Herbst), and parent her three boys… or at least, golden child, Jake. That little break when he kept a man in a cage? He did it for love! Love!
And yet, not everyone in town now loves Franco. Weird, right? Sam is still unreasonably jumpy around him. And Carly (Laura Wright) has that silly grudge about him getting her son raped in prison.
So, to stack the deck, we also learned that little Franco was sexually abused as a child, and that he heroically protected his adoptive brother, Drew (Billy Miller), from the same fate. There. Do you love him now?
Will Franco ever redeem himself enough to be loved by all of Port Charles? Here’s how over 12,000 viewers voted:
Majority Rules
Of course he will, 90% of you feel confident. Franco already had the majority on his side, and in a town where the mob boss is called noble, his enforcer is heroic, an ex-double agent is a cop, and a kidnapper is the hospital chief of staff, Franco is right on track for sainthood!
Long Memories
But for 10% of the audience, Franco could fix global warning, cure cancer, and figure out where Aiden has been hiding (Cam has been found), and it still wouldn’t be enough for you to forget – or forgive.
Final Thoughs
And then there are the 33 fans who offered that he still seems crazy and, oh, yeah, who cares? These folks have had their Franco fill.
