Franco is dead – long live Roger Howarth, according to the rumors coming out of General Hospital. Franco took a bullet to the chest and was pronounced dead on arrival.
Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), Cam (William Lipton), and Scott (Kin Shriner) sobbed. But fans clung to what they’d heard about Roger Howarth returning to the show. Who will he be playing, however? What over 10,000 viewers hope to see happen:
Change is bad, 63% of you remind, which is why Howarth should return as Franco, ASAP. Hey, if Sonny (Maurice Benard) gets to come back from the dead eventually and Jason (Steve Burton) has done it, not to mention the entire Scorpio family, then why can’t Franco? Liz and the boys deserve it!
Howarth has already been on GH as One Life To Live’s Todd, so for 15% of the audience, it only makes sense that he’d return as Llanview’s favorite rapist turned leading man. Now that Prospect Park no longer owns the rights to the character, maybe he’ll even bring his daughter, Starr (Kristen Alderson) along.
Jason and Drew (Billy Miller) may have been long-lost twins, but Franco once considered himself to be “Andy’s” brother. He also, at one point, had Drew’s memories. So why not split the difference, 13% suggest, and make Howarth a – what else? – back from the dead Drew! How about a triangle with Liz and Sam (Kelly Monaco) to really make things fun?
Finally, 9% are tired of seeing Roger Howarth playing GH roles originated by someone else (Franco was once a smug, slumming James Franco). You want to see him get the chance to create a new character, one with all the charisma of Todd and Franco, but maybe a little less, what’s the word we’re looking for? Rapey and serial-killer-y. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
