Former General Hospital star Vinessa Antoine is already shooting the second season of her hit show in Canada called Diggstown, and she’s welcomed a fellow GHer as a guest star on the show.
The actress who originated the role of Police Commissioner Jordan Ashford took to Twitter to announce that Cassandra James, who plays Liz’s (Rebecca Herbst) bestie from the past, Dr. Terry Randolph, will be guesting on the new season.
“Just a couple of gals making history. First black person to lead a dramatic show in Canada and first trans woman on a soap together. Wow!Welcome sister. @diggstowncbc @cassandrajames_ So proud to have you here. #diggstowncbc #GH56 #GeneralHospital #OGJordanAshford #terryrandolph”
James, who was born in California but raised in Vancouver, then retweeted Antoine’s tweet, adding her own spin on the situation saying, “Suprise! Shooting @DiggstownCBC with my @GeneralHospital sister @VinessaAntoine! #transisbeautiful #DiversityandInclusion”
Hopefully, James will be back shooting at GH soon because poor Liz is going through an extremely hard time now that the man she loves, Franco (Roger Howarth), has had all of his memories of her wiped out and thinks he’s actually the 2012 version of Drew (Billy Miller). While Drew has been great for Liz to lean on, she needs all the support she can get.
Terry has certainly tried to be there for Liz in the past — plus she knows Drew quite well after treating his late son, Oscar (Garren Stitt), for the last months of his life.
As for Antoine, while she is missed in Port Charles, it’s great to see her incredible success on this show that she headlines. Unfortunately, there is still no word on when fans in the U.S. will be able to view the Canadian show.
General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
