It was an incredible treat for fans of General Hospital star, Tristan Rogers, as he took part in a Zoom event that was billed as a look at the show’s long history as it approaches its milestone 60th anniversary, which will be on April 1 of next year. He revealed his favorite moment of playing the dashing Robert Scorpio.
Celebrating GH and Tristan Rogers
It was during a General Hospital Fantasy Events Zoom that GH viewers got the chance to ask the longtime heartthrob questions that ran the gamut, considering it has been decades since he first made his Port Charles debut in the early 1980s so there was a lot of ground that could be covered.
Knowing it would be a great way to kick off the event, the first question out of the gate was to ask his favorite moment in all the years he’s been on General Hospital — and Rogers didn’t hesitate. He knew exactly which memory qualified as the answer.
“It would have to be the Ice Princess,” he smiled, as many in attendance nodded their heads in agreement. That was my first experience with an American soap. And little did I know at the time, how big the show was or how iconic Luke [Anthony Geary] and Laura [Genie Francis] were…as it moved along, I suddenly started to see things in a different way.
“My ex-wife, we won’t go into that,” he smiled as he continued, “She kind of brought this to my attention because she was following the show carefully, and she said there’s something going on with this show that no other show has, that no other show is like, and she said, ‘From what I can see, you’re kind of smack in the middle of it all because you’re different. You talk different, you speak different, you conduct yourself in a different way.’ She said, ‘I think it’s going to be very, very good for you.’ She was right about that.”
