It’s not easy making it look like world-renowned artists are coming through Port Charles, NY and showing their work at a small gallery on General Hospital, but the soap design people get it done.
In a special behind-the-scenes video, GH production designer Jennifer Elliott gives you a peek at how Ava’s (Maura West) gallery transforms for a gala show opening. She also tells us the gallery is one of her favorite sets.
Then, she lets us see scenic designer Brent Myers get to work creating the paintings you see on the gallery walls. He is apparently the man behind the art, as we see him creating canvas after canvas that makes The Jerome Gallery look like the real deal.
Now, we’re told Executive Producer Frank Valentini asked them to create the look for a new show. This video tweet only appeared three days ago, but was this put together for an old show or is there something new coming up?
The last show at Ava’s gallery all hell broke loose when Helena Cassadine’s painting went up in flames, but Ava and Nina (Cynthia Watros) seemed to plan that all out to drive Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). crazy and make sure he didn’t get his hands on the codicil disinheriting Valentin.
Seeing that we’re in February sweeps period now, is another knock-out show planned and will any of it feature Franco’s (Roger Howarth) art? He is PC’s resident artist, after all. Or will the show have something to do with the return of Constance Towers as Helena herself? Stay tuned to find out…General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
