Jason’s World Is Changing
Burton talked on the latest episode of his and Bradford Anderson’s (Spinelli) show, That’s Awesome, where Anderson pointed out the obvious: Burton was back in his GH dressing room. Burton confirmed, “I am back on set. Have been for a couple of weeks now. June 1st or 2nd was my first day.”
He said it had been a whirlwind, with a lot happening and plenty of good scenes already filmed. Then he gave the real tease, saying, “We’re shifting directions a little bit, which is going to be interesting for fans.”
Anderson pressed him on whether he meant the show overall or Jason specifically, and Burton kept it careful.
Burton clarified that he believed it was “everything that has to kind of do with Jason and his world. That’s where the shift is gonna take place.” That is enough to know Jason is not simply walking back in, standing near Sonny (Maurice Benard).

Some Fans May Love It
Burton compared this return to Jason’s last comeback, when the character had been forced into FBI work offscreen. That story explained where Jason had been, but Burton noted it did not affect his Port Charles relationships too much, apart from trying to kill Sonny and then making up.
This time, Burton said Jason’s exit left more questions. He explained that some of those questions will be answered, some will not. “I’m sure some will love it, and some will not like it. But you know that’s how it works, right?”
When Anderson asked if the story could be polarizing, Burton suggested they revisit the conversation about a month after the story airs to see what the audience reaction looks like. Burton added that it is all story and character-based, which he likes, and said, “Yeah, I’m excited, you know.”
