OK, General Hospital (GH), what the heck is going on here? We feel like we’re in Red Herring Hell, and with that, can only come up with one explanation for those eyes today.
Yes, they belonged to Steve Burton–but do they also belong to Nikolas Cassadine? Did you really hire Steve Burton to play Nikolas? If so, bravo. We mean, it works? Kinda. Sorta. Maybe?
You needed a new Nikolas, you already have a popular Jason, and Steve Burton was available, so hey, why the heck not, right? Two birds with one stone. Plus, they were BOTH shot and fell into the water and BOTH come from wealthy families.
To the fans saying WHAT? Well, it’s a soap and it’s totally possible because just about anything is possible. Remember this–when Nikolas first faked his death at Wyndemere it was with the sole purpose of framing Jason.
Jason (Billy Miller) and Nikolas had become mortal enemies by then, with Nikolas keeping Jason’s identity a secret for what seemed liked forever and Jason swiping ELQ away from Nik after he took over the company.
Jason had already been accused of trying to kill Nikolas when he fell from the terrace at the Metro Court, so there was no love lost between the two.
Wouldn’t it be the ultimate revenge to then decide to look like the original Jason with a miracle doctor in Russia? After all, Nikolas is a Russian prince and likely has some connections.
Sure, this wasn’t planned when Nik fell from the Cassadine Island window, but Tyler Christopher is no longer available — Steve Burton is, so why not?
Of course, there’s always that mystery of Jason’s alleged twin out there who was a part of Franco’s (Roger Howarth) childhood. So either, we’re totally off on the Nikolas speculation or Franco is a red herring. Or, there’s a third Jason with Steve Burton’s face. (Okay, seriously, GH–just don’t even go there.)
