It seemed pretty obvious on Thursday’s General Hospital that a little birdie (writers, in this case) were trying to tell us that Nelle is, in fact, Nina’s long-lost daughter. But what if this was a total red herring?
Is General Hospital Fooling Us?
While it would certainly be fascinating to watch Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Nelle (Chloe Lanier) as mother and daughter, something about this doesn’t wash. And we’re not just talking about completely changing Carly’s (Laura Wright) back story and playing around with ages.
(For history’s sake: Carly never lived in a nice condo with her nice mother, Virginia, and she was not 18 or 19 when she arrived in Port Charles. She was already a physical therapist, which would have put her with a college degree and in her 20s. Also, Nelle is supposed to be around Michael’s age. Then explain how she was around six when Carly was 18. There is a lot more than 12 years between Carly and Nelle. Never mind that Nelle was a child when her kidney was stolen from her for Josslyn, who is Carly’s third child and much younger than Michael, but we digress.)
First, let’s look at that very end scene when Nelle opened her keepsake box and we saw the necklace — a necklace she seemed to barely notice as she fixated on a baby rattle that was allegedly young Caroline’s.
Could Nelle Have Willow’s Necklace?
However, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) sure was taken aback when she saw Nina holding the other half of that necklace and that could not have been for no reason. Is it possible that the necklace really did belong with Willow at one time, it ended up with Shiloh, and Shiloh’s possessions ended up with Nelle, being that she is the Widow Archer.
Nelle may have just placed it at the bottom of her keepsake box because it was pretty and figured she’d investigate where it came from at some other point in time when not fixated on Carly and a rattle.
Don’t Do It Again, GH
That would mean Willow is Nina’s daughter and GH is just trying to throw us off once again. However, this is what we do NOT want to see — someone else pretending to be Nina’s daughter. We already did that with Sasha and it went on long enough. If Nelle gets wind of this necklace story, might she decide to do the same?
It’s certainly a Nelle thing to do but it is not a thing we want her to do because at this point, giving Nina her daughter and ending this mystery for all characters involved is how we move on. And we really want to move on. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
