The hunt for Helena’s portrait — and the codicil contained within — concludes in grand style as the current owner, Ava Jerome (Maura West), stages an auction with all interested parties invited to place their bids.
A smug Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) is sure that he has the capital to trump his opponents but Jax (Ingo Rademacher) has pockets almost as deep. The two men seem to be the ones to watch but dark horse Laura (Genie Francis) comes in hot and offers up $500,000!
Jax winds up getting pulled away by Nina (Cynthia Watros) just when things are at their most intense — might she offer up the truth about her nascent partnership with Ava?
Spoilers reveal that a delighted Valentin scores a major victory, but does that mean that he wins the painting? And even if he does so, will the codicil actually be included in the purchase price?
Franco: Answered Prayers or Waking Nightmare?
Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) and Cameron (William Lipton) continue to maintain a vigil at Franco’s (Roger Howarth) bedside, willing him to return to them as his old self. The mother/son pair do their best to remain positive but both secretly fear that the procedure may have been compromised by the shenanigans of the mystery assassin.
Peter (Wes Ramsey), who hired the killer in the first place, keeps his own watchful eye on the proceedings, with the same hope that Elizabeth and Cameron share. Because if Franco were to wake up with intensified memories of Drew Cain’s life, it could be curtains for Peter’s own.
After much hand-wringing, Franco begins to stir and soon his eyes flutter open. Elizabeth rushes to him and asks if he knows who she is.
