The General Hospital recap for December 16-20, 2019, features Franco back in the driver’s seat and getting an update, Ava on top of her game, Anna connecting the dots, and Valentin making threats.
Welcome back Franco (Roger Howarth)! You were sorely missed. That guy who spent months occupying your body just didn’t cut it — he couldn’t even figure out if he had an accent or not.
Now that Franco was his old self again, he had to prepare for a tsunami of bad news. First, Drew (Billy Miller) is missing and presumed dead. What he wasn’t told about that particularly dark chapter was the distinct lack of canvas-wide mourning that accompanied the revelation.
Oh! And also, while he was out, the man controlling his person went and slept with Kim (Tamara Braun). And, despite herself, Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) found that a hard pill to swallow. She doesn’t blame Franco per se but it might have been enough to put her off kissing him for a good long while.
The much-despised portrait of Helena Cassadine is no more. RIP J Garin’s final masterpiece. But it’s not all doom, gloom, and piles of ash. The highly sought after codicil is still in play thanks to a crafty, heat packing Ava (Maura West), who revealed to Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) that she was now the document’s proud owner.
Every mother wants to believe the best about her child. That’s why Anna (Finola Hughes) did her utmost to prove Peter (Wes Ramsey) innocent of the charges that Jason (Steve Burton) has been leveling. Instead, her dogged determination uncovered a link between Peter and the hospital assassin. D’oh!
Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) does not like to be told that she’s wrong. That’s a flaw in Valentin’s (James Patrick Stuart) parenting method. So, when Rocco dismissed her claims of a bodyguard, the young girl decided to show her brother better than she could teach him by jumping into the Port Charles Harbor.
But help was not forthcoming. At least, not from her supposed bodyguard. Instead Dustin (Mark Lawson) — having finally extricating his lips away from Lulu’s (Emme Rylan) — dove in and performed the rescue.
Valentin was, to say the least, not thrilled. In fact, he threatened to petition the courts for full custody of his daughter. And, to be fair, the man has sound reasoning. He might lie, scheme, and canoodle with Nina (Cynthia Watros) — sometimes he does all three at once — but Charlotte has …continue reading on the next page —>
Valentin was, to say the least, not thrilled. In fact, he threatened to petition the courts for full custody of his daughter. And, to be fair, Valentin has sound reasoning. He might lie, scheme, and canoodle with Nina (Cynthia Watros) — sometimes he does all three at once — but Charlotte has never gone missing on his watch nor has she ever leaped from a great height.
It really seems like we’re be geared up for a Who Shot Valentin storyline. But if the writers were to subvert expectations would you consider that inspired plotting or a wasted opportunity?
“How many chances at love does one person get?” Well, let’s see Maxie (Kristen Storms). At last count, you’ve had three — Spinelli, Nathan, and Peter. That gorgeous but deadly long-haired Aussie block doesn’t count and your first husband is best left forgotten.
“Was it something I said?” Yes, Amy (Risa Dorken)! It’s ALWAYS something you’ve said…or done or thought about doing. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
