They were a classic General Hospital supercouple. She was a Sonny hand-me-down, he was a professional killer with a heart of gold.
They faced evil third parties – who are now also good – questionable baby paternity, death, impostors, and those who would wish to tamper their mutual rebellious spirits by forcing them to live non-criminal lives.
But, tell the truth, is some of the Jason (Steve Burton) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) spark gone? Especially now that he’s taking care of business for Sonny, and she’s going after Shiloh (Ryan Coby McLaughlin)…in pretty much the stupidest way possible? Is there still heat between this pair? How over 10,000 viewers weighed in:
Nothing Can Dim It!
Sam and Jason are eternal, 66% assert, nothing can dampen the magic between them. You can see it whenever they’re in the same room together. You can see it when they’re in different rooms — or countries.
You can see it when they talk about each other, and when they’re talking about something else. You can see it in the way they drop their kids off with Monica (Leslie Charleson), and when they ignore Drew (Billy Miller).
This is the kind of love that comes along once in a lifetime, and neither Sam and Jason need to acknowledge it to know that it’s there.
For 34% of the audience, Jason and Sam are over. She lights up much more with Drew than she ever did with Jason. And Jason will always put Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright) and their children ahead of Sam and his own.
They were good for a while, but that day is long gone. Both Sam and Jason need to move on. If even signature couple Luke (Anthony Geary) and Laura (Genie Francis) can do it, anyone can.
