Soap Veteran Tamara Braun Reveals Love For Schitt’s Creek’s Moira Rose

Soap veteran Tamara Braun is about to make her triumphant third return to Days of our Lives as Ava after thrilling General Hospital fans with her portrayal of hanging-on-by-a-thread Dr. Kim Nero. Now, she has revealed her love for another soap opera actress — fake one Moira Rose on the Primetime Emmy-sweeper Schitt’s Creek — played flawlessly by Catherine O’Hara.

And really — who can blame her? Certainly, the Academy agreed, as it awarded O’Hara with her own statuette for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy. Braun paid tribute to the character O’Hara portrayed — an out of work former soap opera star who was as dramatic in her “real” life as she was on the soap — on Instagram.

“I didn’t have a slap anyone today,” began Braun, “but I had a long dramatic look away from my costar while I was being spoken to. Oh Moira how I love you so.” The soap vet wrote that in the caption alongside a Schitt’s Creek clip in which Moira’s daughter, Alexis (Annie Murphy, who won for Supporting Actress in a Comedy) was finally watching her mother on an old episode.

While Braun is headed back to DAYS to resurrect her thought-dead character, Ava, her General Hospital one (actually her second, since she was also the second actress to portray Carly) is still out there somewhere. As fans remember, she slept with Franco (Roger Howarth) when he had only Drew’s (Billy Miller) early memories. She may return one day — with a baby?

Will General Hospital mine that potential story minefield one day? If so, it probably won’t be for a while since the actress is being kept very busy. But if Hayden (Rebecca Budig) and Violet (Jophielle Love) are any indications, never say never.
