Rotten Tomatoes: General Hospital Fans Pick Their Favorite Bad Boy

This very well may have been General Hospital’s most difficult poll yet. On the one hand, it asked you to name your favorite Port Charles bad boy. On the other hand, the two choices offered — Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Jason (Steve Burton) — are the two most noble, heroic, and beloved men in town.

Hmm, that’s a stumper, all right. Sonny is a mob boss who kills, blackmails, and threatens people, while Jason is the enforcer who does a lot of the actual killing, blackmailing, and threatening for him.

And yet… beloved. Women ranging from reformed grifter Sam (Kelly Monaco) to unreformed screecher Carly (Laura Wright) to self-described conscience of PC Robin (Kimberly McCullough) love them, defend them, protect them from those policemen (and women) bullies. So which one is your favorite? What over 5,000 had to say:

Junior Mob Boss

At least Jason has an excuse for his actions, 63% of the audience rushes to remind. He was in a car accident that left him brain-damaged — and somehow turned the formerly upstanding medical student to a life of crime, grunting, and tight, black T-shirts.

Then again, those tight, black T-shirts do show off Jason’s best assets. Those abs, those arms, that manly neck. And a guy who doesn’t say much has his selling points. So he kills people for Sonny. Nobody is perfect.

Boss Baby

Sonny is the guy in charge, and that’s pretty hot for 37% of you. Sonny is also the brains of the operation. He talks. Boy, does he talk. Even he has to write down what he’s going to say on his palm, first. (You think we’re kidding? Look closely the next time he starts flinging barware around.)
