In the October 20 episode of General Hospital, Justine showed her desperation to convict Sonny because she believed he lied and broke a promise to her. Justine enlisted Drew’s help in her mission. The newly formed alliance proved that Justine isn’t thinking clearly, and that will backfire on her.

Key Takeaways

  • Justine made Drew an offer he didn’t refuse.
  • Drew was all too eager to have Justine in his pocket.
  • Justine’s biggest problem isn’t partnering with Drew.

Desperate Times Call for Desperate Measures for Justine

Justine (Nazneen Contractor) has been all over the place since the attack on Sidwell (Carlo Rotta) and Curtis (Donnell Turner). The DA’s relationship with Sonny (Maurice Benard) ended because she believed he lied to her.

Since then, Justine has been laser-focused on doing things by the book and has been determined to send Sonny to prison. Justine asked Anna (Finola Hughes) to look over the case and decide if charges could be brought against Sonny for the Curtis and Sidwell attack on Sonny.

However, her most desperate move came when she asked Drew (Cameron Mathison), of all people, to help her put Sonny behind bars. Justine reminded Drew that he used to be thick as thieves with Sonny and that there are many cold cases from that time.

Getting Into Bed With the Worst Possible Person

Drew was skeptical at first and even accused the DA of trying to entrap him. Something shifted, though, as Justine showed her dedication to this mission.

It should surprise no one that Drew agreed to help as long as he got immunity. Justine complied with his request, and it was music to his ears.

Justine should have known better than to team up with Drew, who she knows has been despicable to so many in Port Charles. The DA doesn’t care, though. She revealed they have a common enemy, which proved Justine has a one-track mind regarding Sonny.

Making Moves Based on Feelings Not Facts

There’s no question that Justine should have never gotten involved with Sonny romantically. It crossed so many lines for both of them.

Unlike Sonny, who told Jason (Steve Burton) not to gun for Justine, she’s all in on destroying him. Justine has been acting like a scorned lover instead of a DA.

While she thinks she’s using her lawyer brain to take down a criminal, she’s done just the opposite by teaming up with Drew. Justine risks losing everything because Drew is not loyal to anyone.

Throw in the fact that Drew and Ava (Maura West) actually ordered the attack on Sidwell and Curtis and then framed Sonny for it, and Justine’s about to look really bad in the public eye.

Drew can’t be trusted. Justine knows that, but she has tunnel vision because she thinks Sonny betrayed her. Sooner rather than later, Justine will learn a hard lesson about Drew and Sonny, especially since all signs point to their relationship being exposed.
