It should surprise no one that Ava (Maura West) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) convinced Vito (Sam Duffy) to flip on Sonny (Maurice Benard). They never expected that when Vito gave the beatdown order, Curtis (Donnell Turner) would be caught in the crossfire.
That’s what happened, and Ava raged at Drew for Curtis being hurt. Ava was worried after Drew revealed Curtis had been badly hurt in the altercation. Drew wasn’t thrilled that Curtis was hurt either, but that didn’t stop him from celebrating that Sonny looked like the culprit behind it.
Ava expressed her disgust that Curtis was injured and shared her worry over what would happen to her friendship if Trina (Tabyana Ali) found out that Ava was involved. Drew reminded Ava what was at stake and promised they would have a way to make it up to Curtis.

There are certainly appealing aspects of Ava and Drew teaming up. They are quite entertaining for sure.
However, Ava and Drew showed that there are cracks in their working together. It was clear from Ava raging at Drew that she doesn’t trust him, and vice versa. That means their plan only stays intact until one of the screws over the other one.
Drew and Ava don’t have many friends or allies, so being in each other’s good graces does benefit each of them. Even if Ava and Drew never turn on each other, Scout could unknowingly cause problems for them.
Scout went on a tirade defending Drew to Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn), but she just got an eyeful of who her father really is. Whether she does something with the information or sits on it, at some point, Scout will reveal Ava and Drew working with Vito. She may confide in Rocco (Finn Carr), and that could be how Sonny learns Drew and Ava were in cahoots with his guy.
