The GH spoilers recap for Thursday, September 1, 2022, features Valentin Cassadine finally being honest with Anna Devane over the mess his life has become.
Anna (Finola Hughes) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) decided to leave the pool and go to his hotel room and confront the truth. Yes, Anna has been using Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) to get information on him and yes, Valentin is doing Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) bidding because he fears for Charlotte Cassadine’s life.

Valentin explained that he let his guard down when he was in the rehab clinic and allowed Victor to bring Charlotte to visit him. However, after they left, Victor took Charlotte to Europe and placed her in a boarding school that doesn’t allow him to see her at all. They can only have calls and send texts.
Anna completely understood Valentin’s fears and held him as he cried. She also got him to admit to being the French naval captain who set up Jennifer Smith (Holly Gagnier) but he begged Anna to tell nobody for fear of what would happen to Charlotte. They finally agreed to work together to bring Victor down.
After the doctors regulated Ava Jerome Cassadine’s (Maura West) blood pressure, she finally woke up to Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) standing over her. Before they could say much, Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) walked in and asked some questions. Ava explained that she was trying to clear her head by the boathouse and was stabbed.
When she mentioned she had a fight with Nikolas about Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez), Jordan was surprised because Nikolas had told her that Ava wasn’t in any emotional distress before she was attacked.
Jordan also questioned Victor, but he brushed her off before warning Spencer not to tell anyone that Nikolas slept with Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl). Later, Jordan heard Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) telling Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) that Ava had been staying at the Metro Court and that aroused her suspicions.
Elsewhere, Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) finally told Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) that she has been losing time and that perhaps she did stab Ava and doesn’t even know it. After all, she attacked Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard) months ago so who knows what she is capable of?
Elizabeth eventually told Finn about her strange memories as well and wondered what the trigger could be. Despite Finn not respecting her boundaries for months, Liz agreed to let Finn help her get to the bottom of everything.
Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) was happy to have a kitchen chat with her mother, Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman), but Bobbie was surprised that Carly was canceling a trip to a leadership seminar in Aruba. Carly explained her life is too complicated right now and then told Bobbie everything that happened with Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) the night before.
Bobbie was not surprised at all and encouraged Carly to be with Drew and didn’t know what was holding her back. That’s when Carly flashed to knowing that Willow Tait is Nina Reeves’s daughter, a fact she is keeping from Drew.
As for Drew, he had to tell all to Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) because he needed a friend to confide in. Surprisingly, Curtis told Drew to go for it with Carly anyway, even if she did try to put the brakes on things and say she wanted to take things slow. Way to respect women there, Curtis.
