GH Spoilers Recap For July 29: Spencer Risks His Own Freedom To Save Trina

The GH spoilers recap for Friday, July 29, 2022, features Spencer Cassadine coming clean in court to save the freedom of the girl he loves.

Even Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) didn’t want Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) to get in trouble if it meant she could be exonerated in court. But Spencer knew he had to do something, so he took the stand and told everyone that he was with Trina at his mother’s grave at the moment the sex video was released. He had to admit he arranged a brief prison breakout to visit Courtney Matthews’s (Alicia Leigh Willis) grave on the anniversary of her death. That could put him back behind bars but he didn’t care.

After Spencer also said he believed Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) made the sex video of Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Cameron Webber (William Lipton), the prosecutor cross-examined and had an email arrive on both Diane Miller’s phone and the judge’s phone to show emails can be scheduled.

When Spencer’s testimony was over, Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews) and Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) wanted to know why Trina never mentioned anything about an alibi, while Josslyn gave Spencer a little praise for coming through. Then, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) approached his son and told him he has some news.

Over at Wyndemere, Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) and Esme had it out as Esme taunted Ava about all the horrible things she has done in the past. Ava started to realize that Esme’s vendetta against her was personal because she knew way too many things she shouldn’t have known. When Esme tried to hide the letter from her nanny that was sticking out of her suitcase, Ava tried to grab it.

Esme grabbed the letter right back, and Ava decided she would deal with that later. In the meantime, Ava was going to make sure Esme went to court and told her if she didn’t, she would somehow make her disappear. And she knows how to do that, too.

General Hospital Recap: Sasha Lost It Again

At the hospital, Sasha Gilmore Corbin (Sofia Mattsson) decided after her long talk with Willow Tait that she didn’t need therapy that day, and Brando Corbin (Johnny Wactor) was ready for her to reschedule. When Sasha argued and told him she felt like she was being controlled, Brando said maybe he needed to control her.

Despite Brando apologizing, that sentence led to Sasha just wanting to get away from him and have her space. While she was in the stairwell, she got a text from her friend, who likes offering her drugs, asking her if she wanted to hang out. Sasha was all for it.

GH Spoilers Recap: Corinthos Troubles

At the boxing gym, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) told Brick (Stephen A. Smith) that he thinks Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) would make the perfect new Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Brick wasn’t so sure and wanted to do a background check on him. Sonny was all for that, but also wants to test him with some trial by fire.

Dex later informed Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) that things seem to be going well with Sonny, but that he fears Brick is going to dig into his past.

Michael thought a text from Dex was important enough to leave Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen) after she had her blood drawn, but Willow was also happy for him to be gone as she asked TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) to tell her what he is really looking for with all this blood work.
