The GH spoilers recap for Friday, August 26, 2022, features Spencer Cassadine learning the truth about who his father really is and letting him know exactly how he feels.
Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) may have been stunned when she realized that Spencer (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) heard her yelling at Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) about sleeping with Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl), but she decided she might as well confirm it all. Spencer still couldn’t believe his ears and asked Nikolas to tell him it wasn’t true. Nikolas couldn’t do that, and Spencer’s whole world came crashing down.

After sparring with Nikolas some more, Ava left father and son to talk and Spencer went off on Nikolas like never before. Yes, he didn’t love Esme anymore, but Nikolas didn’t know that. Spencer was just sick of all the lies as Nikolas defended himself and told his father he was through with him for good.
Spencer later got drunk, and Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy) happened upon the scene just as Nikolas was knocking a drink out of his son’s hand.
Earlier, Victor told Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) that he better keep a good eye on the other side of the family — meaning Nikolas and Spencer — if he doesn’t want Charlotte Cassadine in boarding school for good. That’s when Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) walked in and flirted with Victor while trying to open a pickle jar. Valentin took a pic of the moment to send to Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight), but Victor later made him delete it.
Elsewhere, Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) imagined Valentin’s head in a cornhole hole as she threw bean bags at it, calling Cornhole Valentin a lying liar. Later, Lucy told Anna that there was a lot of tension between Valentin and Victor.
After Ava left a hysterical Spencer and Nikolas, she happened upon Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) violently warning his cousin Mason (Nathanyael Grey) to stay away from Maxie Jones. Ava continued drinking and shrugged the whole thing off, but Mason worried she overheard part of their conversation and wanted her stopped.
We soon saw a gloved hand pull a hook out of the Q boathouse and stab an unsuspecting Ava with it. Was Mason the culprit or was it somewhere else?
Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) did his best to defend himself after Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) discovered that he called her sister behind her back. He explained that he couldn’t mind his business because he was saved from addiction by people who couldn’t mind their business. Elizabeth didn’t care, and after Finn brought up her father again, she said they were through.
Later, Elizabeth ended up outside with a cut on her head and didn’t know how it got there. She also had another memory of being on a staircase and arguing with someone about her dad.
Mac Scorpio (John J. York) was shocked when he learned that Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) was Dominique Baldwin’s son and had to see for himself. He was then stunned when he saw Cody and noticed no resemblance to Leopold Taub at all. Could Mac be thinking that he is Cody’s father?
When not meeting Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) and Mac, Cody spent time questioning Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) about her father’s side of the family, something she definitely didn’t want to talk about.
