The General Hospital recap for October 9, 2023, features Chase telling Brook Lynn all about Gregory.
In this episode, Brook Lynn comforted a distraught Chase while Finn gave Gregory some unwelcome news. Lucy made a big decision about Deception. Also, Carly worked with Alexis to get dirt on the judge as Sonny and Nina took off for their island wedding. Finally, Cyrus learned some bad Pentonville news — or at least bad for him. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into the details.
When Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) arrived home, she found a sad Chase (Josh Swickard) sitting on the couch. She couldn’t imagine what could be wrong and was stunned when Chase told her that Gregory (Gregory Harrison) had ALS. She was also surprised to learn that Tracy (Jane Elliot) knew the news before Chase. He knew what ALS would do to Gregory while he was still alive, which broke his heart after going through old photos. In the end, it turned out that Chase was grateful to Tracy for opening her big mouth.

Finn (Michael Easton) showed up at Alexis’s office to speak to Gregory privately. He was forced to tell him that Tracy outed his condition to Chase. He knew he had to finally be straight with his son and soon turned up at Chase’s door.
Lucy (Lynn Herring) and Maxie (Kirsten Storms) remained in a panic over losing Deception despite Lucy making a poor attempt to seem optimistic. Maxie tried to convince Lucy to take Tracy’s deal, but Scott (Kin Shriner) came to Lucy’s defense and insisted she had to hold on to her ELQ shares.
At least Lucy was considering the idea if only to save single mom Maxie’s financial life. Later, Lucy and Maxie held a staff meeting. Maxie was shocked when Lucy announced she was taking Tracy’s deal. Scott even supported Lucy in the end and helped her and Maxie celebrate with champagne.
Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) and Gregory (Gregory Harrison) decided they were going to nail the judge who sentenced a white-collar criminal to prison just because he might have higher court ambitions like every other federal judge in the U.S. Carly (Laura Wright) soon arrived to talk to Alexis and make sure she was doing as Sonny asked. Alexis admitted she had a vested interest in Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) case because she wanted him to be with her granddaughter Scout, the daughter who didn’t need him as much as Donna needed Carly.
It turned out that Carly was actually excited because she managed to find out the judge went on a fancy Caribbean fishing trip as a possible quid pro quo.
Cyrus (Jeff Kober) met with the warden privately and learned that she was leaving the job and moving on. This alarmed Cyrus because she was the one who let him run his criminal enterprise from inside Pentonville. She told him he was on his own but also alarmed him when she mentioned Drew would soon be taken care of permanently.
Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Sonny (Maurice Benard) boarded Sonny’s private plane to fly to their Puerto Rican island destination wedding. Nina was stunned when Kristina (Kate Mansi), Michael (Chad Duell), and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) also showed up because she had no idea she’d have any loved ones there. The fact that her daughter would be at her wedding seemed unbelievable to Nina and like a dream come true. Willow even offered to help Nina with the wedding details.
