The General Hospital recaps for August 1 – August 5, 2022, feature possible death, probable jail time, perfunctory celebrations, and so much more.
Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) and Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) violently tussle over the incriminating letter Esme penned to her nanny. The battle extends out onto the castle’s parapet, and Esme winds up tumbling into the water.
At Willow Tait’s (Katelyn MacMullen) urging, TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow) confesses his belief that she has leukemia… Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) takes the stand in her own defense. She cops to formerly having romantic feelings for Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez).
Elizabeth Webber (Rebecca Herbst) returns to work at GH. Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) lets slip that he loves her; Liz reciprocates. Later, while navigating the stairwell, Liz is overcome by the memory of finding Peter August’s (Wes Ramsey) body.
Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) gets territorial when Mac Scorpio (John J. York) becomes the center of female attention. Mac makes clear his intention to remain a member of the PCPD for the foreseeable future and encourages Felicia to offer her skills as a PI to Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco)… Sam learns from Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) that he and Willow are expecting. She senses that Michael is troubled, but he downplays the situation.
Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma) sets about covering up Esme’s potentially fatal fall… Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) and Jordan Ashford (Tanisha Harper) deduce that Oz Haggerty (Max Faugno) OD’d on the same drug that Spencer asked Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) to identify. Curtis tells TJ that it’s imperative that Oz be brought out of his medically induced coma.
Trina is cross-examined by the A.D.A. Closing arguments are given… Jordan places Spencer under arrest for violating the terms of his incarceration… Willow undergoes a bone marrow biopsy and moves forward with her plan to keep Michael in the dark where her health is concerned.
In addition to remembering her discovery of an unconscious Peter, Liz recalls calling out to her father while still a youth. Finn locates her and brings her round; she’s left fuming when Finn suggests that she needs further care.
Ava made plans to relocate from Wyndemere to the Metro Court. Much to Sonny Corinthos’s (Maurice Benard) surprise, Ava comes to him and requests his help in ensuring Trina receives a not guilty verdict. Sonny intunes that Ava dispatched Esme.
Cameron Webber (William Lipton) tells Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) that he knew of Spencer’s plan to trap Esme into admitting her guilt. Josslyn takes him to task for not confiding in her… On Grant Smoltz’s (David Lautman) orders, Sienna Bruce (Cynthia Zitter) tries – and ultimately fails – to get Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) to confess to being high the night she ran over Harmony Miller. Sasha is left dumbstruck when she catches sight of Grant and Sienna colluding.
A betrayed and furious Sasha vandalizes Smoltz’s car. He insists on pressing charges despite Brando Corbin’s (Johnny Wactor) best efforts to convince him otherwise. Sasha is booked and thrown into a jail cell.
On Sonny’s orders, Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) intimidates a juror deciding Trina’s fate. Josslyn catches him in the act and blanches at Sonny’s methods… Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) poo-poos Curtis and TJ’s idea to bring Oz out of his coma sooner rather than later. Curtis realizes that she intends to do the deed herself.
News of Sasha’s jailing begins to disseminate. Martin Grey (Michael E. Knight) advises Brando to name someone Sasha’s guardian. Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) floats the idea of Sasha taking a sabbatical from Deception; Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) is horrified… Dante sees through Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) and Harrison Chase’s (Josh Swickard) attempt to snow Linc Brown (Dan Buran).
Britt agrees to give Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) a do-over date; Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) cautions her against such an act. Sam and Maxie speculate on Spinelli’s obvious hatred of Cody… Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) concedes that Gregory Chase (Gregory Harrison) won their wager. The two get down the business of covering Sasha’s arrest.
