GH Retro Recap
This General Hospital retro recap is all about the Corinthos family…so, no real change from present-day GH.
In retrospect, the Fall of 2015 looks an awful lot like present-day GH. Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright) are up against some seemingly insurmountable odds. Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) and Kiki Jerome are in the thick of a romantic dilemma. Ava Jerome (Maura West) is climbing into bed with someone she really shouldn’t. And Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms) is working overtime to make her situation work. Say what you will, but at least these characters are consistent.
Carly isn’t too happy with Sonny…but who can really blame her? He has forgone his mood-stabilizing medication and as a result, he shattered the trust that existed between him and his son Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig).
Sure, Sonny should have spoken up from the beginning and revealed that Morgan knew all along that Kiki and Michael weren’t related. But everyone agreed that Morgan and Kiki’s wedding reception was most certainly NOT the place nor time to grow a conscience.
Carly insisted that his actions were the direct result of his abandoning his pills. Sonny insists on the opposite. Without the lithium, he is finally feeling something. Sure, it’s overwhelming darkness…but how to better honor his recently deceased, and very much loved, Connie?
Carly insisted that his way of mourning was wrong. How could he neglect his health and cause damage to his loved ones and claim it’s all for Connie’s memory? That’s not what she would want. Connie would want him happy, healthy, and there for his kids. Upon realizing that his ex was speaking the truth, Sonny agreed to resume taking his prescription.
In 2022, Michael is in love with Willow Tait (Katelyn MacMullen). A few years back it was Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson). Before that it was Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier). Before that it was Sabrina. In 2015, he was all about Kiki. He loves her and she loves him but she’s also married to his brother. Michael said that didn’t matter.
Morgan was really mad at Sonny…and Michael and Kiki. The only person he wasn’t mad at was Ava. So that probably explained why he rips her clothes off and they take their “friendship” to the next level. Spoiler alert: this little May/December love affair didn’t end well for either party.
Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) and Lulu (Emme Rylan) felt so blessed to have their (frequently-squalling) baby girl. Too bad she’s biologically Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Spinelli’s (Bradford Anderson) daughter. Enjoy her while you can, kids.
