Soulmates: Who Will Austin End Up With on General Hospital?

Ever since arriving on General Hospital, Austin Gatlin-Holt hasn’t had much to do beyond carrying around incriminating sonograms… and flirting. Doesn’t he get lonely?

We’re afraid he’s been inactive in the love department for way too long. Which is why almost 3,000 viewers put their heads together to decide which woman would be best for getting Austin (Roger Howarth) out of his romantic slump:

GH: Mama Maxie

An overwhelming 75% of the audience wants to see Austin with Maxie Jones (Kirsten Storms). Sure, she comes with baggage that includes three kids, one dead husband whom she adored, one ex-fiance whom she lied to for months and was prepared to kill, and… Damien Spinelli (Bradford Anderson). Most sensible people would go running for the hills before they got involved with all that. But Austin has gone out of his way to claim he’s an unusual kind of guy. Maybe this is exactly what he’s been looking for his whole life.

General Hospital: Step Up

Britt Westbourne’s (Kelly Thiebaud) last boyfriend was a mob killer… who also happens to be Austin’s cousin. So, Austin would be a major step up for her, 21% of you point out. Britt isn’t like Maxie. She doesn’t need constant rescuing. She can do the rescuing herself – it’s what she did with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton). Which means she and Austin are more likely to be equals. And that’s a plus for any relationship.

Lookalike

Only 4% of fans are interested in a rerun of the Elizabeth Webber Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) and Franco Baldwin (also played by Howarth) relationship by pairing Elizabeth with Austin. She’s got several problems of her own these days, what with her parents’ surprise pop up into Jake Webber’s (Hudson West) life, Cameron Webber’s (William Lipton) sex-tape crises, and her mysterious, disappearing household items. She doesn’t have time for Austin, and he doesn’t need to step into a potential split personality disaster.
