Aunt Stella Henry is one tricky character on General Hospital. We’ve heard rumors of her secret past as a nurse in Salem, a secretary on Murphy Brown, a student on Welcome Back, Kotter, and even moonlighting as yet another nurse on The Big Bang Theory and Bob Hearts Abishola.

GH: Mother, May I Sleep With Danger?
Over half of you, 52% are convinced that Stella isn’t Curtis Ashford’s (Donnell Turner) aunt — she’s his mother. And it’s not just because she is uncommonly nosy about his life and full of opinions about how Curtis should be managing his personal and professional life.
It’s because no one on soaps is who they are first assumed to be. Peter August (Wes Ramsey) claimed that Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) was his mother — but she turned out to be his aunt. This is the reverse of that. Keeps things interesting.

General Hospital: Either/Or
If Stella is Curtis’s mother, and Marshall Ashford (Robert Gossett) is his father, then that means the two of them had an affair. And even if Stella isn’t Curtis’s mother, an affair is still not off the table for 35% of the audience. Maybe that’s why he took off all those years ago. And why he stayed away for so long.
GH Crime Doesn’t Pay
It’s nothing that sexy, 13% of fans sigh. They’re not ex-lovers or co-parents, they’re just reformed ex-criminals. Stella knows about crimes Marshall committed, Marshall knows about crimes Stella committed, and they are both committed to keeping it a secret. At the moment, Marshall seems better at that than Stella. But maybe she’s never been quite as motivated before.
