General Hospital fans still fondly remember John Stamos, who played Blackie Parrish in the 1980s. After exiting the soap, he became a beloved TV star when he appeared in Full House and its reboot, Fuller House. Dave Coulier, who played Joey Gladstone on those sitcoms, has recently revealed he’s battling a major illness. And his bestie Stamos has been there to support him along the way.
That’s No Bird
Stamos took to Instagram to share photos of himself and Coulier, writing, “My brother from day 1. Love you @dcoulier and I’ll be by your side through it all.”
Coulier recently shared with Today that he has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. But, through it all, he has kept his humor. He’s been having chemotherapy treatments and joked that when he shaved his head in anticipation of it, he resembled “A baby bird.”
Stamos, who’s always been known for his amazing head of hair, posted more pics of him and Coulier, this time with a stark difference: the two were bald. He captioned the pics, “Nothing like throwing on a bald cap and flexing some Photoshop skills to show some love and solidarity with my bro @dcoulier You’re handling this with so much strength and positivity—it’s inspiring. I know you’re going to get through this, and I’m proud to stand with you every step of the way. I love you. (p.s. – @melissacoulier is the most wonderfulest – your true life line!)”
The Love Rolled In
While some of the fans felt it was in poor taste to wear a bald cap and that true solidarity would mean that Stamos actually shaved his head, one fan advised the two to ignore the detractors with, “Very kind 🫶🏾🙏🏾🥰 ignore people’s ignorance. You love your friend, and he knows it. Focus on that only. God bless you, Dave. We’re praying for your healing!”

Another follower responded and referenced late Full House cast member Bob Saget, writing, “I know for a fact that if Bob was still alive he would’ve done the same thing because at the end of the day, those three were not only castmates but more importantly best friends.” And one fan lovingly wrote, “We love you, Dave!!!!” (Find out how B&B alum Jennifer Finnegan paid tribute to Saget.)
