Despite the incident with Sasha, who had a meltdown on the Home & Heart shopping show, Lucy salvaged things. Her cosmetics company, Deception, has hocked their products several times since on the show-within-the-show. The concept is so popular, that General Hospital is officially releasing Deception products in the real world, which are inspired by the ones seen on the sudser.
Fans Will Love the Merch
In an August press release, GH announced, “Its officially licensed online shopping platform, Shop Home and Heart.com.” With the cute tagline, “The General Hospital fictional beauty brand is now REAL!” on its site, fans will be overjoyed to find real-world products like the characters sell on the show, which seem reasonably priced.
The merch available includes “handbags, jewelry, and makeup inspired and worn by the show’s characters, allowing viewers to immerse themselves in the world of General Hospital beyond the screen, creating an unparalleled connection between them and their favorite daytime drama.”
The website became available to the public on August 22, which was the same day that Lois (Rena Sofer) made her debut on Home & Heart as the spokeswoman for Deception. She had a rocky start, and a mean caller on the show insulted her Brooklyn accent, causing Lois to seek out a dialect coach. But the products themselves are so enticing that viewers will be thrilled when they see what’s available on the website.
The Deceptor Is Now Real
As seen on GH, the Deceptor skincare wand has also been brought to life and is described as a “Portable skincare device.” As something people would really use, the Deceptor features, “The latest advancement in skin rejuvenating property Red Light Therapy, it helps improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, rejuvenates skin and aids in pain relief. The Deceptor’s lightweight, portable features allows it to be used at-home or on the go.”
Executive producer Frank Valentini explained that in this day and age of “immersive storytelling,” the offering of real-world products based on ones seen in the show will help connect with the fans. “Shop Home and Heart.com helps bring Port Charles to life in such a delightful way,” he stated.
Real-World People Get the Word Out
The show has teamed up with Knocking, a company that brings brands like Deception to life. Knocking’s Chief Operating Officer, Brian Meehan, stated, “We are thrilled to provide fans with access to officially licensed products that were once only seen on the show.”
Andy Paige, a QVC guest host, author, and lifestyle expert, appeared on the August 23 episode as another Home & Heart host named Pearl, who is promoting the website in real life. In addition, journalist, author, and TV host Debbie Matenopoulos also played a producer alongside Morgan Fairchild’s main H&H host, Haven de Havilland.
Now, if they would only release Corinthos Coffee for real, our day would be complete.
