On General Hospital, Julian couldn’t outrun his destiny because of his wrong choices. Luckily, his portrayer, William deVry, is much more level-headed. And today, this much-appreciated daytime veteran is celebrating an important milestone.
That’s because he was born on April 20, 1968, in Montreal, Quebec, which means that this talented actor is turning 56 years old today! Actor deVry’s career began in 1994, and he appeared in a number of Canadian-American programs.
Of particular note were his recurring roles in Earth: Final Conflict, Beggars and Choosers, and Stargate SG-1. In 2002, he joined the cast of GH spinoff, Port Charles. His small role as bartender Tim Dolan was quickly followed by a one-year stint on fellow ABC serial All My Children. There he played the villainous Michael Cambias, who met his maker courtesy of rape victim Bianca Montgomery.
Between 2006 and 2008, deVry appeared on The Bold and the Beautiful in the pivotal role of Storm Logan, whose storyline-dictated suicide enabled his ailing sister, Katie Logan, to receive his heart.
A plethora of guest spots and recurring roles followed, including ones on Nikita, Transporter, Beauty and the Beast, Castle, and Hemlock Grove. He also starred in the action-comedy Insecurity, as well as Three Weeks, Three Kids, and A Killer Among Us — both made-for-television films.
In 2013, deVry debuted on General Hospital. Though his character was initially called Derek Wells, he was eventually revealed to be playing mobster Julian Jerome — a character who had last appeared onscreen in 1990 and had been portrayed by Jason Culp.
Soap Hub would like to wish William deVry a very happy birthday. You can do so by clicking on the X (formerly Twitter) link below.
