While Nancy Lee Grahn gave powerhouse performances Monday and Tuesday on “General Hospital” as Alexis realized what she married and what her life had become, William deVry gave a much more subtle performance as Julian.
However, just because it was subtle, it did not make it any less chilling. As Julian tried to put the burden of his actions on Alexis because she knew all along he ordered the hit on Duke, we watched a once-loving husband turn into an emotional abuser. DeVry even reminded us of his rapist “All My Children” character Michael Cambias, another sociopath who never knew what he did wrong.
For Julian, the killing was for the sake of his happiness and his family–but did he really feel that justified everything. Soap Hub asked if you think Julian feels any remorse for his heinous actions or if he just sees them as a means to an end.

Out of about 2,500 votes, 87% of you think he has no remorse at all and will do everything again in a heartbeat if he deems it necessary. Crime and killing is in his blood and it’s all he’s ever known. To you, he seems even more desensitized to it than Sonny is and Jason ever was. You also know neither Jason (Billy Miller) nor Sonny (Maurice Benard) would ever try to make their wives accomplices.
A much smaller 12% think deep down inside Julian feels sorry for everything, but he needs to hide his feelings on the surface for his own sanity. You think he’s tormented inside, but he was taught to be callous and cruel, so he can’t let his true feelings show.
The final 1% don’t even care. You only know he did a bad, bad thing, and remorse or not, there’s no making up for it.
