For the most part, General Hospital has been accommodating to actors’ schedules so they can pursue other projects. James Patrick Stuart, who plays Valentin Cassadine, had the good fortune to star in the fun Disney Channel show Villains of Valley View. After two successful and beloved seasons, the series sadly got canceled.

Heartbreaking News

On X, formerly Twitter, the co-creator of Villains, Chris Peterson, shared the devastating news: All good things must come to an end…and after two incredible seasons such is the case with The Villains of Valley View. We’re beyond grateful to our amazing cast, writing staff, and crew. We also want to thank all the loyal fans. You made us part of your family and you’ll forever be part of ours.”

The show concerned the Maddens, a family of supervillains who were on the run and hiding in suburbia, pretending to be regular people. Along the way, they learned that being a good guy isn’t as bad as it seemed.

Peterson continued delivering the heartbreaking news: “While it was never our intention to end the series on a cliffhanger, we hope that Amy, Hartley, and the Maddens will live on in your hearts (and on Disney+) forever.”

To avoid major sorrow, fans were invited to watch a re-airing of the episode Haunted Jukebox on October 3 at 7:30pm. Peterson ended with, “Thank you again for making our show ‘a place for everyone.’ ” Isabella Pappas played oldest daughter Amy, while Kayden Muller-Janssen played her best friend Hartley. Stuart was the father of the Madden clan, Vic, aka zany villain Kraniac.

All My Villains

Stuart happily shared a preview of the show in 2022, which no doubt brought many of his GH followers along, increasing viewership. Fans were extremely bummed out about the news with one replying, “Thank you @ChrisPeterson for giving us a great series in #VillainsOfValleyView I am sad that series ended with a Cliffhanger and I’m grateful for all you have done this show made laugh made me smile and made me happy so thank you.” The series had so many laugh-out-loud moments that fans found it hard to imagine its unceremonious cancellation, and many called for a resolution to the cliffhanger. Another ardent follower shared their devastation, responding, “I’m sad about this news. This is an amazing show. This is my favorite show. Hopefully, there will be a movie one day.” Dora Dolphin, who played Shadow on Villains, replied with the heartfelt, “VOVV was truly one of the best experiences of my life! I absolutely loved having this blessing of an opportunity to bring Shadow to life! Love you guys so much! ♥️🫶🏻🦹🏼‍♀️💥.”

Shadow was another villain, the daughter of the Maddens’ archnemesis, Onyx (Steve Blum), who attempted to kill the family. While one fan asked for Villains to cross over with some of Peterson’s other shows, like Lab Rats and Mighty Med, another one had the brilliant recommendation: “Can we find a new service to air a farewell season on like ABC or Disney plus?”

We’ll miss Villains and hope for a revival someday.
