It was a dark day for General Hospital’s Cameron Mathison when his family home was destroyed by the LA wildfire. Fortunately, the actor picked himself up, dusted himself off, and moved toward the next chapter in his life. Through it all, he has remained a positive force, trying to uplift the spirits of others who were affected by the tragedy. Mathison recently joined a worthy cause that’s set to help improve lives.
A Star-Studded Event
According to its website, KTLA will be hosting a telethon for Project Angel Food’s Lead, hosted by the channel’s morning anchor, Jessica Holmes, and co-hosted by comedian Loni Love and actor Eric McCormack. Project Food Angel described the event as follows: “Every cent of your donation during the show goes directly toward preparing and delivering medically tailored meals for neighbors most in need.”
Tailored specifically to help the victims of the wildfire, the event will feature several celebrities participating, including Edward James Olmos, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Barbra Streisand, just to name a few. One celebrity that will be a major part of it is GH’s Cameron Mathison, who plays GH’s Drew Cain.

Stories of Resilience
The outlet reported that Mathison is going to take fans “on an emotional journey back to the site of his home that was destroyed by the Eaton Fire in Altadena where he will meet a client of Project Angel Food ‘among the ashes’ as they find ‘the strength, solidarity, and hope that Project Angel Food brings in the face of loss.’ ” KTLA shared on Instagram a video of their interview with the GH star.
The caption stated that Mathison took time to be interviewed and, “He talked about this weekend’s @projectangelfood’s Lead with Love 6 telethon where he’ll talk about his powerful story and more!” In the clip, Mathison stated that the telethon will relate, “stories of resilience and ways to get through and people out there doing what they need to do with the help of Project Angel Food.”
The event will air on KTLA as well as live-streamed on its website on June 28 starting at 7:00 pm PST.
