Spinelli and Maxie have been known as a General Hospital supercouple since the early 2000s, and after several ‘maybe’s for their undeniable relationship, the two are finally back together. But after not being seen on screen together in weeks, Bradford Anderson gave some insight into Spixie’s current status.
In a recent episode of Daily Drama — Anderson’s podcast with fellow GH star Steve Burton – the actor recalled the last time he was seen in Port Charles. While answering the fan question, “Will Maxie (Kirsten Storms, who just celebrated a milestone birthday) and Spinelli get back on the road to romance,” Anderson responded, “I don’t know, I thought we were on a road.”
Anderson continued that the couple were on a literal road, seen in Maxie’s car together after being released from their arrest. “We kissed on a road in a car,” he remembered. “And then we had a couple scenes where I was helping at Deception,” he continued, speaking about the recent scenes when Spinelli installed new software on Maxie’s Deception computer.
“I wasn’t sure if it was established that we are quote-on-quote back together or not,” Anderson said, revealing what’s left to be determined is “buy-in” for the storyline.
“It doesn’t seem to be a priority in terms of storytelling,” Anderson admitted about Spinelli and Maxie’s relationship storyline. Burton agreed but said the priority storyline at the moment is Jason’s return and Pikeman. Burton finished with, “I feel like it’s going to happen,” giving fans a glimmer of hope for the supercouple.
This comes after Anderson and Burton documented their first run-in on the GH set back in March, but admitted they weren’t filming scenes together, and had yet to.
