Marcus Coloma Speaks Out On Being General Hospital’s New Nikolas

Somehow General Hospital managed to keep finally recasting Nikolas Cassadine under wraps, but soap fans and publications were able to identify the actor as Marcus Coloma soon after Thursday’s show aired.

The soap later confirmed the news, as did the actor, via social media on Friday and fans are thrilled to have this character back in Port Charles where he belongs.

“I feel so honored and humbled to be a part of this world,” Coloma said via tweeted video on the official General Hospital Twitter page. “It’s fantastic what the writers have been doing. All the actors are so incredibly talented.”

“The fans are the most passionate fans I have ever seen,” he continued. “I’m really looking forward to you guys seeing what we have coming up. So, keep watching.”

Coloma also revealed the news on Instagram, saying he was glad to finally be able to talk about this role he’s kept a secret for a while now.

When we last saw Nikolas, he was flying off the balcony on Cassadine Island after Valentin shot him. For the last three years, Valentin has insisted he did NOT kill Nikolas and it looks like he was right. (We always believed him.)

At the time, Nikolas was played by Nick Stabile after actor Tyler Christopher and the soap couldn’t agree on new contract terms. Christopher later went on to play Stefan DiMera on Days of Our Lives.

Right now, it looks like Jax and Hayden have known Nik is alive all along and Ava thinks she is crazy and imagined him. But, it does look like Ava and Nik are going to pick up where they left off in 2016 when a romance was first blossoming and Soap Hub can’t wait. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC.
