Nicholas Alexander Chavez became an instant hit when he debut as Spencer Cassadine in the summer of 2021 on General Hospital. Soap Hub fans selected the actor as Favorite Newcomer in the 2nd Annual Soap Hub Awards, which touched the young actor’s heart.

The fans who voted for him, Nicholas Alexander Chavez tells Soap Hub, “totally rock. I am so, so thankful to every single fan who watches the show and especially the ones who have welcomed me with open arms and appreciate the work that we’re doing for them. I’m glad that everyone’s had fun and is [continuing to have] a good time.”

“Spencer has a lot of things that make him feel ‘othered’ in life,” Chavez said on The Talk. “he comes from a really, really wealthy family but I think the fans really connect to is that he’s really desperate for a connection with other people in spite of where he comes from. he’s made to feel ‘othered’ because of the background that he’s come from. He has a hard time connecting with his friends.”

“But in those moments, where his real personality shines through and he becomes what I like to call his ‘best self,’ I think that they see the glimmers of light coming through and I think that they enjoy seeing that.”
