The combined Brady and Black clans just barely drove the devil out of Marlena Evans on Days of our Lives before The Dark One hopped into and took over Johnny DiMera. Now he has left poor Chanel Dupree DiMera heartbroken — and friends and family stunned. How is this new twist going over? Find out — and see the surprise we have for you at the bottom.

Days of our Lives Polling

This brings a classic DAYS storyline to a new generation. Something soap fans always look forward to. But how do over 3,000 fans feel about it?

DOOL: Savings & Loan

This is horrible, 71% of the audience notes. Johnny (Carson Boatman) will never be able to stand up to that level of evil on his own. He needs help! It took two former priests, John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan), to free Marlena (Deidre Hall). You suspect it will take a lot more than that to wrench Johnny from the Devil’s clutches. He does have as many people who love him. But his internal fortitude…not really up to par.

Days of our Lives: Save Grandma

Just like during the Covid pandemic, the Days of our Lives younger generation must make sacrifices to protect the older one, 18% stress. It’s more important that Marlena stays safe – and that Susan Banks (Stacey Haiduk) is kept from becoming a cat again – than the piddling dramas of Johnny and the recently dumped Chanel Dupree DiMera (Raven Bowens). They’re kids. They can shake it off and end up none the worse for wear. Marlena is a senior citizen. They don’t bounce back from possession the way they used to.

DAYS: Finally Fun

And then there are the 11% of you who are finally enjoying Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) and EJ DiMera’s offspring. You didn’t care about Johnny’s movie career, or about his romantic life, for that matter. But now that he’s poised to be the Big Bad of Salem, he’s got your attention. This kid didn’t have much of a personality beyond being an entitled rich brat, so if he’s not going to generate one, the Devil might as well do it for him.
