GH Star Maurice Benard Turns The Tables On Interviewer Melvin Robert

Sunday, October 10, 2021, was World Mental Health Day and General Hospital star Maurice Benard, who plays Sonny Corinthos, put up a new episode of his show, State of Mind, this time turning the tables on Spectrum interviewer extraordinaire, Melvin Robert, by putting him in the hot seat to answer questions.

Benard promoted the show on his Instagram saying, “Today on @mbstateofmind I’m joined by Melvin Robert,” he began. “After being interviewed by Melvin on Spectrum I had a feeling we would connect on another level. Melvin really gets deep with me about how he was bullied as a child and how that went on to affect him as an adult.”

Getting bullied is certainly something many can relate to, though for kids growing up in today’s society, it can be even worse thanks to social media. This is a subject that touches Benard deeply, as the two men talk about what happened and how Robert handled it. Benard revealed, “Now therapy and meditation help him break out of those old thought patterns.”

Considering how tough it is for today’s youth, Maurice Benard went on to say how society needs to respond. “We need to be better about advocating for kids in school,” he wrote. “Teaching them mental and emotional health is so necessary and important.”

For his part, Robert wanted to draw attention to this very special episode and asked people in his Instagram Story to watch, saying, “Honored to be invited on [State of Mind] today!
