After a lengthy absence, while the actress was off in Singapore visiting her family, Lydia Look is returning to the canvas. Look for mob boss Selina Wu to resurface in Port Charles this week.
Meanwhile, Maurice Benard, who plays rival mobster Sonny Corinthos, revealed that his son, Joshua Benard, is making another appearance on the soap on Wednesday, March 16 via Twitter. The younger Benard previously portrayed a young Sonny on the soap.
In a surprise move, Sydney Mikayla is exiting the role of Trina Robinson, so she can focus on her college studies. She’ll make her final appearance on Thursday, March 17. Taking over the part will be Tabyana Ali.
Priscilla Garita (ex-Gabi, Sunset Beach) filled in as Harmony Miller on Thursday, March 10. Inga Cadranel, who originated the role, had to take a short break from the soap.
Although he’s been MIA as Valentin Cassadine, James Patrick Stuart will be resurfacing soon. The actor, who’s been off filming the Disney+ series, Villains of Valley View, took to Twitter to let fans know that the character will be back on screen this month.
GH made its debut in 1963 and is the second longest-running daytime soap opera in American history. The longest-running soap is Guiding Light. While it’s not the longest-running serial, General Hospital is the longest-running soap opera currently on air.
The daytime drama outlasted other soaps to become a mainstay for many households! From legendary Laura’s (Genie Francis) many decades on and off and back on as the show’s leading heroine to Anna Devane’s (Finola Hughes) exploits to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and his mobster activities, GH certainly knows how to please its viewers.
It is one of four soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas include Days of our Lives (DOOL), The Young and the Restless (YR), and The Bold and the Beautiful (BB). General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
