While she first appeared as one of the heads of the Five Families — those are the mob families, to the causal General Hospital watcher — it is only recently that Lydia Look’s Selina Wu has made herself a true force to be reckoned with in Port Charles — and viewers are rejoicing!
General Hospital – Don’t Mess With Ms. Wu
Online fans have been wanting the head of the current Wu crime family (they were a force back in the mid-80s as well) to gain more focus, especially considering her nephew Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) has been on the canvas for a number of years.
With Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) ratcheting up the pressure, sides needed to be chosen — and she came down on the side of the Corinthos clan, saving the lives of both Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright).
She has also proven herself to be a useful ally to Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) by putting the hit on Peter August (Wes Ramsey) that’s landed him near death at General Hospital. In turn, Sonny helped to secure Brad’s parole — possibly causing strife within his own family by doing it.

The wild card of course is Brad. He has never embraced his biological family and certainly never took part in their mob dealings. Did that change with the hit on Peter? He was seen delivering food but was he the one who dosed Peter’s food? It would certainly seem like good timing…kismet even.
Either way, seeing more of Selina as she wields her power, can only heighten the drama in Port Charles, which is exactly what viewers want to see. Will she continue to be #TeamSonny or could Brad do something that will upset the delicate balance and cause these two family heads to go to war against each other? Anything can happen — but hopefully, it means seeing more of an unpredictable Selina Wu.
