We were thrilled to see Nina rail against Jax last week on General Hospital after learning Nelle was her daughter — and that he kept that news from her for months. However, after she mentioned that her poor daughter was given to a man who would be heinous enough to sell her kidney, the irony wasn’t lost on the team at Soap Hub.
A General Hospital Missing Plot Point
Oh, Nina (Cynthia Watros), do you not know that the man heinous enough to sell a child’s kidney sold it to the man you are screaming at? That it was Jax (Ingo Rademacher) who KNOWINGLY bought a kidney from a living child.
Yes, Jax was so worried about HIS little girl that NO other little girls mattered. So what if a kidney was ripped out of a child against her will, scarring her for life in more ways than one. His kid is okay and nothing that happened to Nelle (Chloe Lanier) as a child could have possibly led to the damaged young woman she became.
What Jax did was both illegal and abusive and yes, worse than what Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) did when he hired someone to pose as Nina’s long-lost daughter when he couldn’t track down the real one. Are we excusing Valentin’s actions? Nope. But that doesn’t mean Jax’s actions should be glossed over.
Jax Played God
Does Nina not know that Jax did this to this young woman she felt such an inexplicable bond with that she hired her to be her stepdaughter’s nanny at one point? Or is she just conveniently forgetting this as Jax begs for forgiveness for neglecting to tell her the truth of her child’s identity?
Jax not only played God with what Nina was allowed to know about Nelle, but also played God with Nelle’s life and health when she was just a little girl. If Nina eventually takes Jax back without this beat ever being played, it will be an injustice to the story and to the character of Nina. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC.
