Many people have been creating home gyms in light of the coronavirus crisis, but General Hospital star Mark Lawson was ahead of the game, having already set up a workout place at his house. The hunky Port Charles newcomer is showing his followers how to keep fit!
Lawson is familiar with workout guru Bobby Maximus, author of Maximus Body. “Since I don’t seem to have [the] ability to [do] 1000 pull-ups like he does, I realized I needed to add some horizontal pull,” Lawson noted. “That evolved into a workout hitting the big-ticket items for upper body push/pull day…#garagegym #trainasif #trainathomecoach #calisthenics #strengthandconditioning #fitness #fitnessmotivation #flattenthecurve”
The exercises involve press, pull-up, dip, Aussie row (or bent over row). Lawson says to aim for 10 sets, doing maximum reps within those sets, and to take a one-minute rest in between each round.
Lawson joined GH as Dustin Phillips in July 2019 as a scene partner/potential love interest for Emme Rylan’s Lulu. In December, Dustin scored major points by heroically diving into the icy waters of Port Charles to save Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez).
In January, Dustin helped save Josslyn (Eden McCoy), Michael (Chad Duell), and Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) from some bad guys. Recently, it was revealed that Dustin has a past with Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton).
As always, it’s best to consult with your doctor before embarking on any physical fitness regime. Check out Lawson’s post below in which he both does the exercise and then explains their origins. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check local listings for air times.
