General Hospital’s Nikolas Cassadine, played by Marcus Coloma, was singing the blues when it looked like he was going to lose his wife Ava until she opted to stay in Port Charles after finding out Spencer was her stalker. Now, Coloma has shared some of his real-life singing with his followers on social media.
Marcus Coloma posted on Instagram his heartfelt rendition of The Beatles hit “With a Little Help From My Friends.” Why did he choose this particular song? “I’ve ‘sung out of tune’ a couple times,” Coloma shared in his post, borrowing a lyric from the well-known hit. “Just wasn’t happy with certain areas, and I felt like I could improve.”
The actor/singer is open to receiving feedback from his close pals. “It’s so great to have friends that have your back unconditionally,” he says. “Just wanted to say @ingorademacher [Jax] @1steveburton [Jason] @mauricebenard [Sonny] are those friends. Just because they may not have agreed with some of my ideas, I never felt like they didn’t have my back. They are an inspiration to me.
“They are such loving fathers who set such high standards as role models,” Coloma continues. “The amount of activity that Ingo involves his kids in is beyond impressive and always inspires me to be even more involved with helping my kid achieve her goals.”
“Steve is as impressive as a father and sets such a high moral standard to aspire to, and he has even helped me achieve my goals,” explained the actor. “It’s exciting watching how excited Maurice gets about his kids and how passionate he is about helping them achieve their goals.”
Coloma expressed that he is also grateful to his co-stars for being role models in regards to acting. “Maurice is so generous as an actor and is constantly offering help, even when it includes encouraging me to confront Sonny,” Marcus Coloma revealed. “Actually, both Steve and Maurice have done that. Which blew me away both times, as it was so incredibly generous to not only deliver such great performances for themselves but to be willing to help me improve as well! They are such professionals, and when I came in as the new guy they were so warm and welcoming, and it is very appreciated. It’s a little weird singing a song to my dudes. But it’s weird times, and sometimes you have to be willing to make things a little uncomfortable to tell people how important they are to you.”
