When Olivia broke into that Monte Carlo casino room with a large gun this past week on General Hospital and managed to rescue Ethan and Robert, things looked a whole lot different in rehearsal — thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.
“I said WEAR A DAMN MASK,” LoCicero tweeted on Friday, along with a photo taken on the monitor while the actors were in dress rehearsal.
Things looked exactly like the scenes we saw, except every performer was wearing a green mask, which seems to be the standard color on the GH set.
LoCicero has the gun in her hand as Olivia and as she looked more at the photo she quipped, “I appear to be aiming at Robert Scorpio.” And that does indeed seem to be what she is doing, but of course, Olivia wanted to rescue Robert (Tristan Rogers) and not shoot him.
On the set, everyone is masked at all times except the performers when tape rolls. All crew is masked and the actors take them off for however long it takes to complete a scene and puts them right back on when the cameras stop for any reason.
It’s all part of the new COVID protocols on all television and movie sets to keep everyone safe and the actors have become used to it.
In fact, LoCicero’s tweet to “WEAR THE DAMN MASK” reminds us of The Young and the Restless star Eric Braeden who is selling masks with his likeness in Victor Newman character telling people to “Wear the damn mask.”
Once those masks came off on the GH set, Olivia’s rescue mission succeeded, but then she, Robert, and Ethan (Nathan Parsons) all saw false proof that Holly (Emma Samms) is indeed dead and they believed it. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
