Mom, one of TV’s funniest sitcoms, is getting a whole lot funnier. General Hospital star, Carolyn Hennesy, is guest-starring on the CBS series Mom, which stars Anna Faris and Allison Janney as a dysfunctional — but loveable daughter/mother team.

Tonight’s episode is titled “Judgy Face and Your Grandma’s Drawers.” The story has Christy (Faris), Bonnie (Janney), and the ladies stepping in to help when Marjorie (Mimi Kennedy) babysits her granddaughter for the first time. Hennesy is playing the role of Professor Winslow in tonight’s episode, the show’s 150th!
Hennesy’s no stranger to making folks laugh. She delivers zingers as her Emmy-nominated role, savvy attorney Diane Miller on GH. The actress won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting or Guest Actress in a Digital Daytime Drama Series for her role as Karen Blackwell on The Bay in 2017.
As veteran GH fans recall, Hennesy debuted as attorney Diane Miller back in 2007. Sonny (Maurice Benard) hired Diane to defend him on charges he had murdered Lorenzo Alcazar (Ted King). More recently, Diane advised Michael (Chad Duell) on how best to combat Nelle (Chloe Lanier) as the two prepare to fight over custody of their son, Wiley (Erik and Theo Olson.) Over the years, Diane has represented many Port Charles citizens, mostly members of Sonny’s family.
Recently, Hennesy received a Daytime Emmy pre-nomination for her role as Gloria in the web series Studio City. Hennesy’s acting other roles away from GH include guest-starring parts on The Cool Kids, The Mindy Project, Desperate Housewives, That ’70s Show, Party of Five, and Anger Management. She’s recurred on Dawson’s Creek, True Bloods and as the scene-stealing Barb on Cougar Town. Mom airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
