Does Diane Deserve Her Own General Hospital Storyline?

Usually, if General Hospital fans are seeing Diane, it’s because the police have, once again, unreasonably accused Sonny of being a mobster, Jason of being a hit-man, or Alexis of making very, very bad decisions when it comes to men.

Sure, there’s a girls’ night out once in a while, or some sexually charged banter with Milo. But, most of the time, Diane (Carolyn Hennesy) is there to serve other characters’ stories. Does the feisty legal eagle deserve one of her own? Here’s what almost 14,000 fans would love to see happen:

Fun Home
Diane is so much fun, 87% of you cheer. It would be great to see her more often. Diane is more than just a ruthless — and ethic-less — mob attorney. She’s more than just a drinking buddy or a talk to. Let’s see her drive the story for a change.

Unlike nearly everyone else in Port Charles, Diane hasn’t had a long-lost child pop up out of nowhere. Maybe Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) is really Diane’s daughter, since we know she’s not Nina’s (Cynthia Watros). Or she’s Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) mom. Or Brad’s (Parry Shen). Let’s get Diane into the thick of things!

And, as we all know, on soaps, the thick of things means a hot romance. Sure, Milo is great, but no one on GH is allowed to be considered a viable leading lady unless Sonny (Maurice Benard) has tried her out first. So what are we waiting for?

Small Mercies
On the other hand, 13% of the audience believes we have just as much Diane as we need at the moment. She’s good in small doses, but her harsh demeanor will start to chafe if we need to watch her every day.

Let her get the bad guys out of jail, and browbeat the good guys about putting them there. Then get off our screens. General Hospital (GH) airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
