The General Hospital recap for Tuesday, August 18, 2020, features the early hours of a far less glamorous – though no less important – Nurses Ball.
It’s time for yet another Nurses Ball, but this year’s ceremony is going to be very, very different. Fortunately, there will still be some spectacular musical numbers. (Perish the thought that those would be done away with!)
Rather than perform for a live audience dressed to the nines, this year’s entertainers will be alone in the ballroom… save for the Mistress of Ceremonies, Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring).
Furthermore, the men and women who normally play spectator will be broken up into small groups and placed inside extra-comfy conference rooms where they will be manning phones and taking donations for a very worthy cause— the safety of frontline workers.
The cream of the Port Charles crop began to slowly make their way down the red carpet, with Lucy (of course) leading the pack. Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) head was momentarily turned by an arriving Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). Who knew that the man would look even hotter in jeans and a t-shirt instead of his everyday suit? Still, she recovered in time to help Carly (Laura Wright) interview Sonny (Maurice Benard).
Franco (Roger Howarth) braved the aisle sans Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), endured Nikolas’ (Marcus Coloma) taunting, and found comfort in Ava’s (Maura West) kind words. Nurse Webber Baldwin eventually joined her husband, but the tension between the pair was obvious.
Brook Lynn (Briana Lane) took her moment in the spotlight to plug her upcoming performance, and she was followed by her father and Olivia (Lisa LoCicero). Already smarting over his wife’s anger at his treatment of Brook Lynn, Ned (Wally Kurth) was further upset by Robert’s (Tristan Rogers) invasion of his red carpet moment.
Sleuthing partners Sam (Kelly Monaco) and Spinelli (Bradford Anderson), budding couple Lulu (Emme Rylan) and Dustin (Mark Lawson), and newlyweds Michael (Chad Duell) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) also arrived. Jordan (Briana Nicole Henry) and Curtis (Donnell Turner), and Peter (Wes Ramsey) and Maxie (Kirsten Storms) rounded out the Ball’s attendees.
When alone with Spinelli, Nelle (Chloe Lanier) took the time to reveal that Shiloh (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) had been blackmailing Peter over his participation in Drew Cain’s (Billy Miller) long-ago abduction. In response, Spinelli made a beeline for Robert, revealing that they finally had the goods on Faison’s son! General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
