General Hospital Recap: Oh, What A Night… At Wyndemere

The General Hospital recap for Monday, August 17, 2020 features the screeching end to yet another Wyndemere set soiree, a scheme uncovered, and just a bit of recapitulation.

General Hospital Recap Highlights

Ava (Maura West), Franco (Roger Howarth), and many of the assembled guests at Wyndemere were aghast to see the vandalism wrought on Ava’s portrait. Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) jumped to the conclusion that Ava had defaced the artwork while Lulu (Emme Rylan) confided to Dustin (Mark Lawson) her fear that Nikolas (Marcus Coloma) was responsible.

In the aftermath of her humiliation, Ava ordered the castle cleared of all party goers and then commiserated with Franco over the incident. He begged her to leave the property and abandon her toxic marriage to Nikolas but Ava tearfully admitted that her current predicament – though miserable – was preferable to a life of loneliness.

Later, Ava eavesdropped on a conversation between stragglers Lulu and Dustin and learned of Nikolas and Spencer’s (Nicolas Bechtel) scheme. She confronted her husband and warned him that they would remain husband and wife until the bitter end.

Or at least until he cheated on her. Nikolas decided that Ava would be the first to succumb to the advances of another. Then the warring spouses nearly kissed! (But there’s a pandemic, so we couldn’t see much of it.)

Playing Catch-up

Upon exiting the party, Lulu and Dustin headed for the Metro Court restaurant and Maxie (Kirsten Storms) and Peter made a beeline for The Floating Rib. At the former establishment, Lulu and Dustin got to hear all about Brook Lynn’s (Briana Lane) latest troubles.

At the latter, Maxie came thisclose to telling Peter about her pregnancy, only to be interrupted by Anna (Finola Hughes). After a particularly uncomfortable talk with her future mother-in-law – during which Anna insisted that she would indeed screw up and be forced to prioritize either motherhood or having a career –  Maxie decided to remain silent about her condition.

Portrait of a (Disintegrating) Marriage

Back at Wyndemere, Franco and Elizabeth attempted to reconcile but once again argued over Franco embracing his past and his determination to reignite his career. General Hospital airs weekdays on ABC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
